The OpenQ team has deep technical expertise in developing enterprise software and internet applications, industry experience selling to and serving over 7 of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies, and prior business start-up experience at a venture capital firm and as founding executives at a successful software and services organization that grew to over $150 million in annual revenues.

Jim Zuffoletti (President) Mr. Zuffoletti has been a founder of start up organizations as both an entrepreneur and an intrapreneur. As President of openQ he has been a catalyst for determining the company's strategic direction and for forging critical relationships with customers in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industry segments. He is also responsible for customer relationships and results. Prior to founding openQ, Inc., Mr. Zuffoletti was a founder of FreeMarkets, Inc., a pioneering e-business company. While at FreeMarkets, Jim served in a number of senior leadership capacities including sales leadership and general management. Before FreeMarkets, Mr. Zuffoletti started his career at GE in a variety of positions in finance and business development. Mr. Zuffoletti holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Amherst College, is a graduate of the University of Michigan's Human Resources Executive, and holds an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.


Otavio Freire (Executive Vice President of Technology) As the Executive Vice President of Technology at openQ, Mr. Freire is responsible for the creation of openQ's enterprise technology solutions, which enable customers in the global life sciences industries to significantly impact their sales, marketing and compliance efforts. Mr. Freire brings rich experience in internet applications, internet commerce, and information technology serving the pharmaceutical, financial services and retail industries. His expertise spans software development, customer relationship management systems, content management technologies, and systems integration. Prior to co-founding openQ, Mr. Freire was the Director of Technology at a software company serving the pharmaceutical industry where he created innovative technology products currently live at eight of the ten largest global pharmaceutical companies, including Merck, GlaxoSmithKline, and Eli Lilly. Mr. Freire's career has also spanned work at Oracle and InterWorld. Mr. Freire holds a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, a Masters of Science in Management Information Systems, and an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. He is fluent in Portuguese.


Joel Mezistrano (Senior Vice President Professional Services) Mr. Mezistrano is responsible for the satisfaction of our customers through successful implementations and effective technical support. Mr. Mezistrano joins openQ with 14 years of experience building, selling, and implementing enterprise software products. After starting his career at Accenture, Mr. Mezistrano held leadership positions at Source Medical (healthcare practice management), Capital Stream (banking & leasing), InterWorld (E-Commerce), and AlphaPath (Education). Mr. Mezistrano also founded a custom software development company focusing on offshore development projects for software product companies and mid-market IT organizations. Mr. Mezistrano holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Dr. R. Michael Broad (Medical Director) Dr. Broad is responsible for helping to expand openQ's current growth by serving as the senior life sciences industry advisor, and by ensuring that openQ leads the industry in embedding subject matter expertise in solutions for life sciences. Dr. Broad joins openQ with over 17 years of experience in biomedical research and commercialization of the biosciences. He most recently served on the executive team of MolecularMD, a Portland,Oregon-basedcancer diagnostics company that was co-founded by one of the world's foremost key opinion leaders (KOL) on targeted therapies for leukemia. In this position, Broad was instrumental in launching and marketing the company's first exclusive diagnostic tests. He also examined, evaluated and recommended many additional diagnostics for inclusion in the company portfolio. Broad graduated with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada and received a research fellowship from the Karolinska Institute. He also holds a MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.


Michael Chartier (Michael Chartier (Vice President Sales and Client Management - Europe) is responsible for driving openQ's growth in Europe. He brings over 20 years of experience in various Sales and Marketing roles collaborating with and selling to top European pharmaceutical companies. Mr Chartier is recognized for his strong track record of driving industry best practices initiatives for pharmaceutical companies which has led to significant revenue growth and stronger customer relationships. He was most recently Sales Manager - Europe, at Envision Pharma, the world leader in strategic medical publications software and services. Mr. Chartier is based in Paris and is fluent in French.
